Business opportunity erupts! The free nutritious meal program personally supervised by the Indonesian President has sparked a demand for 30000 central kitchens, and we are looking for high-quality central kitchens and raw material supply chains!
On December 17, 2025, the Indonesian Free Nutrition Kitchen Entrepreneurs and Managers Association officially signed a strategic cooperation agreement with the 2026 Indonesia International Food and Beverage Trade Fair IIFB and Indonesia International Food and Catering Exhibition MoreFood Expo. This cooperation aims to build an effective supply chain platform for the Indonesian government's upcoming free nutritious meal program.

Strategic Opportunity: Creating a New Blue Ocean in the Food Industry through Projects
The free nutritious meal program personally promoted by Indonesian President Prabowo is an important strategic project aimed at improving national nutrition and benefiting approximately 83 million children and pregnant women.

The plan is expected to build 30000 central kitchens (service units) by 2027, which will directly create over 1 million job opportunities and generate huge demand for food ingredients, kitchen equipment, and supply chain services. This project is not only a social livelihood project, but also a highly certain food industry opportunity driven by national will and fiscal budget.
Core requirement: Certainty orders brought by central kitchen and localized procurement
The core of the project lies in the central kitchen model, which brings clear market demand:
The demand for food ingredients is huge and stable: According to operational data cited by Reuters, after the implementation of this plan, the annual demand for basic food ingredients is expected to be astonishing, such as over 300000 tons of rice and over 500000 tons of chicken. (Note: Estimated based on 100g rice and 70g chicken per meal). According to the Implementation Regulations of Indonesia's Free Nutrient Meal Plan (2024 Presidential Decree), the plan will prioritize the procurement of local small and medium-sized enterprise ingredients (with a target of ≥ 60%), and allocate more than 85% of the total budget directly to raw material procurement.

There is a significant gap between equipment and supply chain: Indonesia's local industry is unable to meet the standardized equipment required for the project in the short term. For example, there is a capacity gap in some standardized equipment (such as food grade containers) in Indonesia's local supply chain, which needs to be supplemented by imports. This indicates a huge market space for kitchen equipment, cold chain logistics, and intelligent management systems.
China Opportunities: New Space for Sino Indonesian Food Cooperation
Chinese food companies have significant advantages in participating in Indonesia's free nutritious meal program. In recent years, economic and trade cooperation between China and Indonesia has continued to deepen, and China has maintained Indonesia's important trading partner status.

In the fields of food processing and kitchen equipment, China has advanced technology and mature solutions that can meet the dual requirements of efficiency and food safety for large-scale central kitchens. The intelligent kitchen equipment, food testing technology, and supply chain management experience of Chinese enterprises can effectively improve meal efficiency and ensure food safety.
The Indonesian food industry is one of the few fields with international competitiveness, and its development started earlier than China's. According to Statista's forecast, the size of the Indonesian food market is expected to reach $36.048 billion by 2026, with a compound annual growth rate of 5.3%. The implementation of the free nutritious meal program will further expand this market size.
As the 2026 Indonesia International Food and Beverage Trade Fair IIFB and Indonesia International Food and Catering Expo MoreFood Expo approach, APPMBGI Association is actively improving its supplier evaluation system and has stated that it will focus on connecting with central kitchen equipment and raw material supply chain enterprises that meet standards during the exhibition period to effectively implement Indonesia's free nutritious meal program, a national livelihood project.
This huge demand will drive the rapid development of the food industry chain in Indonesia and even globally.
